Jesus’ Mission statement for every church:
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
Arrowsmith Vision Statement :
In the next 10 years, we will build bridges into our community to transform people’s lives through God’s love and truth, welcoming them into our church family where we follow Jesus together.
There are many churches in our country that no one knows or cares about except the people inside them. To the people who live next to them, they are only a building where unknown people gather once a week - islands isolated from the communities around them. We will not be one of those churches. We will be a church that is connected to our town - a church known for what Jesus is known for - tangible love for others.
In the next 10 years, we will build missional bridges into our town through our people who will show the generosity of God through Jesus Christ. These bridges will connect the lives of people in our church to the lives of people outside it and create gospel opportunities. We see every person in our church family on one of these bridges growing in their trust in Jesus as they serve and take risks for the gospel. And we see people from outside our church stepping onto these bridges and being drawn into our discipling family.
We will become the church of which you hear regularly, “Oh, Arrowsmith? That church matters to our town.”
As we build credibility for the gospel (Matthew 5:16), we see many people coming to faith in Christ in connection with our church.
And as we reach out to our town and beyond, we know we will come to know Jesus more than we ever have before, because we will be out working with him where he is.
