Arrowsmith Baptist Church began in January of 1965 when two leaders in the Baptist General Conference met with 19 interested people in a local home. Two months later, on March 25th, 1965 Arrowsmith Baptist Church was officially formed with 24 charter members. The church that sponsored Arrowsmith was Mount Pleasant, later called Global Community Church, in Vancouver.
In June of 1965, the church called its first pastor. A building site was purchased and construction began. The new building was dedicated to the Lord in May of 1969. A new church building was begun in 1977 to better accommodate the growing congregation and plan for the future. In September of 1981 the new structure was dedicated to God’s glory.
The church prospered and, in January of 1999, hired a pastor of Youth and Worship. In 2002 a Counselor/Life Coach was added to the staff. A church administrator was also later added to the staff.
As a church, affiliated with the Baptist General Conference of Canada, we continue to strive to fulfill the greatest commandment through the Great Commission by passionately proclaiming the glory of God in Christ for the joy of all people.
